The internet is a wide number of different networks worldwide. Each network has an unique address, when someone types in the address a signal is send into the net world searching of the code and sending it back quickly as possible.
What is the function of a web browser?
When you type in something in the web browser, the computer first finds the exact address on the internet and then sends out information from the computer over the broadband connection locating the websites address. When the website responds to the signal it sends the data back over the internet reaching your computer.
What is a packet?
When information is sent over a network, it’s separated into smaller pieces, which are sent one at a time.

HW1. What is the internet?

The Internet is a massive public spider web of computer connections. The Internet connects personal electronics, and all of these computer connections exist for information sharing.

What is the function of a web browser?
A web browser is a client that connects to a server, using HTTP. HTTP stands for, "Hyper Text Transfer Protocol". The web uses TCP/IP technology, HTTP is a protocol that uses TCP/IP to do this client and server request and response.

What is a Network packet?
In computer networking, a packet is a formatted unit of data carried by a packet mode computer network. Computer communications links that do not support packets, such as traditional point-to-point telecommunications links, simply transmit data as a series of bytes, characters, or bits alone. When data is formatted into packets, the bitrate of the communication medium can be better shared among users than if the network were circuit switched.

How are packets sent when on the internet?
Networks that ship data around in small packets are called packet switched networks. For example, on the Internet, the network breaks an e-mail message into parts of a certain size in bytes. Each packet carries the information that will help it get to its destination. Each packet contains part of the body of your message. A typical packet contains perhaps 1,000 or 1,500 bytes.

The internet is a group of interconnected networks that are positioned around the world
The function of a web browser is to locate information you want to find on the internet and communicate that to your computer
A packet is a piece of data that can be sent to a place on the internet or any other packet-switched network
When a file is moved and sent on the internet the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) breaks the information into smaller sized pieces of information that are easier to send. All of the packets are given different numbers and have the address of the destination. These may take different paths to get to the destination, but when there they are re-assembled to form the original message.

Describe the internet in your own words.
A group of interconnected networks that are positioned around the world.
The internet is a global computer network that provides a wide range of information using communication facilities (e.g satellites). This is all interconnected networks that uses standardised communication protocols.

What is the function of a web browser?
The access and locate web pages from around the globe.

What is a packet?
A packet is a formatted unit of data carried by a packet mode computer network. When data is being changed into bitrate of the communication medium can be better shared among users than if the network were circuit switched.
How are packets sent when on the internet?
A packet is sent off to its destination

WHAT IS THE INTERNET?
1. Describe the internet in your own words.
The internet is basically a group of interconnected networks that are positioned around the world. The internet provides a huge variety of information.
2. What is the function of a web browser?
The function for a web browser is to find information using web pages from around the globe.
3. What is a packet?
A packet is a unit of data which is sent to a place on the internet or any packet-switched network.
4. How are packets sent when on the internet?
When packets of information are being sent on the internet they are broken down into smaller sized pieces of information therefore making it easier to send. This process is called Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). All the packets then have their own destinations but once all the smaller sixed pieces reach the same destination the information is put back together again.
